30 for 30 challenge and SNOW!

I have been reading several blogs lately where girls are doing a 30 day wardrobe challenge using ONLY 30 items from their closet. I LOVE this idea! It causes you to SHOP your closet and be creative with your style. You also cannot shop for clothing or shoes during this 30 day period. Well, I am going to take the challenge. I am so excited! I will start my challenge on March 1st. This will give me plenty of time to plan out each outfit and get my closet in order. Now onto the subject of SNOW!!! I must say that I LOVE snow. I love it sooooooo much that I get sad in the winter when we don't see a lot of it. As the end of February approaches I see our chances for a BIG snow becoming less and less. I wish that we would get a blizzard of snow like we did back in '93. Yes, that's right! Its been that long since we had a substantial amount of snow around here. I will continue to pray for a big snow! And by the way all you weather ppl....yeah you know who you are. All the meteorologists....not EVERYONE likes a bright sunny day and warm temps. Some of us like rainy gloomy days and cold weather....so THERE!!! Can you tell I'm bitter today? NERDY GLASSES AND BANGS!

There are two things that are really HOT right now and they just happen to be two of my most favorite things. BANGS....but not just any bang. FULL on bangs! I LOVE bangs! I love them full and sleek and pieced out with long beautiful Victoria's Secret hair. YAY for BANGS!!! I also have a love affair with the NERDY glasses that are all over the place. They are SO Ralph Lauren!!! Their classic and preppy! Well, I have some now and I am loving them! I either get great compliments on them(from ppl who know what's "IN" and chic, or wierd stares from ppl who are like "What is she thinking?" All I know is they are in all the magazines....J.Crew, Ralph Lauren,Banana Republic,etc.... So, LOVE them! What are your two favorite fashion forward trends right now? Let me know!

My living room is starting to come together too!

I've been working hard on trying to get our living room all pulled together. It's still a work in progress. There are several things I want to still do. The coffee table needs to be painted, and the wall across from the book shelves needs to be filled with either a mirror collage, or maybe some old floral prints. My sofa table is only temprorary. I want to find an old dresser to put behind my sofa instead and do a cute mini bar on it. Any ideas would be great to hear!



Kitchen/Dining area project

Hey y'all! Well, I've been working on my kitchen for lets say a year and a half. I've painted, painted again, and painted again...LOL! I've NEVER just loved the kitchen or felt as if I was achieving my vision for it. I wanted a place that would be functional and cozy. I wanted to be able to display my favorite collection of antique china plates and all my other things I'd collected over the years. I've finally found a paint color that I feel allows me to use all sorts of my favorite colors and my things are fitting in nicely. I'm really excited about where the kitchen is headed and its starting to feel warm and cozy and livable. Here are a few pics of what it is so far. The armoire is NOT staying in here but it is so heavy and we can't move it out until I move some other things out of the room it will eventually go in and that won't be until it warms up. I have to transfer a bunch of stuff to my basement....which is aka my dirty little secret....! I need some ideas for the little white buffet. Should I do lamps? I would like to fill it up with something. I'm going to paint my large island black and this spring I will be painting my kitchen cabinets a nice shabby chic white. I will also continue to fill the walls and get balloon curtains for over the sink. So this is it so far....

I'm Back!

OH MY WORD!!! I can't believe its been so long since I've blogged. I've been visiting so many other blogs lately and taking it all in. It has inspired me to start back up and get back in the game. I'm so excited to start posting some projects I've been working on around my house. I hope to get some new subscribers this year. I'm loving the winter weather and all the snow we've gotten in East TN. I will have to post some winter pics. I know its crazy but I LOVE these gray wintry days. They feel comforting to me. My home smells like warm maple sugar and it just feels cozy....mmmm....I love it!  I will leave you with a few pics and will return very soon. Have a Happy Weekend Everyone!
